The victim, Ivana Garcilazo, was murdered on Saturday, September 30, 2023, after a football match between Rosario Central and Newell's, where the Canalla team won 1-0. Ivana suffered a blow to the head with a stone while riding a motorcycle with her boyfriend near the Coloso del Parque stadium, wearing the Central shirt. The autopsy revealed that she suffered severe cranial trauma in the right parietal area.
The cause of Ivana's homicide is classified as "aggravated homicide". Two suspects, Ariel Cabrera and Juan Masson, were detained after being identified by a security camera in the area. Meanwhile, the fugitive Damián Reinfestuel, accused of being one of the three perpetrators of the crime, was captured in Bolivia after being on the run for a year and a half.
Authorities confirmed that Reinfestuel, who was in Samaipata, a Bolivian town, was using false documentation with another name and surname. His extradition is expected in order to be tried in Argentina, where justice is expected to be served for the crime that occurred. Ivana's brother, Sergio, expressed his emotion regarding the capture of the accused and stated his desire for justice to be served in the case.
